The Company is focused on developing cellular therapies for cancer and diabetes based upon a cellulose-based live cell encapsulation technology known as Cell-in-a-Box. Cell-in-a-Box technology is used as a platform upon which therapies for several types of cancer, including locally advanced, inoperable, non-metastatic pancreatic cancer (LAPC). The Company's lead product candidate, CypCaps is in Phase II of the clinical trials in LAPC. It also focused on developing a therapy for Type 1 diabetes and insulin-dependent Type 2 diabetes. Its product candidate for the treatment of diabetes consists of encapsulated genetically modified insulin-producing cells.
