American Water Works Company, Inc. (www.amwater.com) is a water and wastewater utility company. Its business segment includes Regulated Businesses, which involves the ownership of utilities that provide water and wastewater services to residential, commercial, industrial, public authority, fire service and sale for resale customers. It owns the physical assets used to store, pump, treat and deliver water to its customers and collects, treats, transports and recycles wastewater. Its Military Services Group enters into long-term contracts with the United States Government to provide water and wastewater services on various military installations. It also has contracts with municipal customers to operate and manage water and wastewater facilities and provides other related services through its Contract Services Group. It provides services to various customers, including commercial customers, such as food and beverage providers, commercial property developers and proprietors, and energy suppliers.
