 The issue has prompted a change at the top of the social platform. Pinterest said Tuesday that it will replace Ben Silbermann with Bill Ready of Alphabet Inc.’s (US.GOOG). Google as chief executive officer. Mr. Silbermann, who co-founded Pinterest and has led the company for more than a decade since its founding, will transition to the newly created role of executive chairman of the board. 

  Pinterest (US.PIN) has recently shed users and suitors alike, losing nearly three-quarters of its market value over the past year in the process. A new leader won’t automatically change much of that. Mr. Ready’s LinkedIn profile lists his current role at Google as “President of Commerce, Payments & Next Billion Users.” To turn things around at Pinterest, with its 433 million users, he will need all of those skill sets and more.
