Coherent, Inc.(www.coherent.com) is engaged in the design, manufacture, service and market of lasers and related accessories for a diverse group of customers. The Company is focused on providing lasers, laser-based technologies and laser-based system solutions in a broad range of commercial, industrial and scientific applications. The Company operates through two segments: OEM Laser Sources (OLS), and Industrial Lasers & Systems (ILS). The OLS business segment is focused on high-performance sources and complex optical sub-systems typically used in microelectronics manufacturing, medical diagnostics and therapeutic applications, as well as in scientific research. Its ILS business segment delivers high performance laser sources, sub-systems and machine tools primarily used for industrial laser materials processing, which serve important end markets like automotive, machine tool, consumer goods and medical device manufacturing as well as applications in aerospace and defense.
